HyaCon 1.0 launched with a clear focus on addressing the water hyacinth crisis. By convening policymakers, researchers, and leaders—including Muhammad Riaz Hamidullah, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, and several other dignitaries—the conference demonstrated a unified commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions, shaping collaboration for meaningful impact.

Over the next two days, HyaCon 1.0 centered on actionable solutions for managing water hyacinth. Media attention and expert dialogue advanced the main objective: transforming ecological challenges into scalable development opportunities through circular economy models and sustainable technologies.

The valedictory session marked a thoughtful conclusion to three days of knowledge sharing, dialogue, and partnership. The session was attended by distinguished leaders, including Alex Varghese, IAS, District Collector, Alappuzha; Uma Thomas, Hon’ble MLA, Thrikkakara; Dr. J. Letha, Pro Vice Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University); Ambassador (Retd.) Prof. Venu Rajamony, Chairman, Future Kerala Mission; Prof. Dr. G. Nagendra Prabhu, Scientific Advisor, Future Kerala Mission; Dr. John C Mathew, Manager, Vembanad, KoI Ramsar Site; and Shri. Krishnan Subramaniam, Chief Learning, Transworld.
