Ambassador (Retd.) Venu Rajamony, Chairman of the Future Kerala Mission, met Shri K.V. Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Environment, Forests, and External Affairs, in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Ambassador Rajamony presented the Minister with a copy of the Discussion Paper titled “Tackling Kerala’s Water Hyacinth Menace” and briefed him on the objectives of the Future Kerala Mission as well as the upcoming International Conference on the Water Hyacinth Menace, to be hosted by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi in December this year.
The Minister appreciated the initiative and shared valuable insights drawn from his own experiences combating water hyacinth in the lakes of Uttar Pradesh, along with learnings from Lake Victoria in Uganda. His encouragement added further momentum to the collaborative efforts aimed at restoring Kerala’s water ecosystems and advancing sustainable environmental action.
